Default Partition Types

Well, I'm new to this Linux thing and I'm creating a new partition to put Ubuntu on it. When I want to create a new partition (I'm using Paragon Partition Manager) it asks for the type and these show up:

Linux Ext2
Linus Ext3
ReiserFS
Linux Swap2

What are the differences between these? Or should I just stick with NTFS?

NTFS is NOT to be used for Linux.

And the Ubuntu installer can create the partitions for you. I recommend EXT3.

Yeah, one to install the OS and the other for swap.
ext3 or reiser will do for the OS, the swap is just linuxswap.
