I fold.
SMP fold.
Or else I wouldn't even be on Linux.
But uh.

Does Beryl slow down Linux at a noticeably, and more importantly, would it slow down Folding....?

I used it for a bit and without it feels a tad faster even at only 2.1Ghz - but I'm also using bigger swap space. Not sure if that would make a difference. (1GB -> 1.7GB)

So.
Will it slow down folding? I know it probably will, but how badly? The sexyness is leet, but folding a lot slower is so not leet.

You shouldn't notice it slowing down the system much, if at all. Its not system intense like some people think. Its affect on folding would be minimal.

the 'top' command will show you if it's slowing you down. Beryl does occasionally use excessive resources for me
