2 Things with this post.
__________________1.) One thing I ound out about through the #gnome channel , is the startup.sh file should probably be saved under /home/username/ and then you can run via terminal " gnome-session-properties " without the quotations to add the startup.sh file to the autostart list. 2.) I got the following error message when I added Option “Buttons” “7” and Option “ZAxisMapping” “4 5 6 7” to my xorg.conf, then restarted my X environment: Parse error on Line 51 Section Input Device in file xorg.conf Requires 1 or 2 Quoted strings to follow it. "~@~\7~@~]" is not a valid keyword Know what might be going on here?

you can open xorg.conf in a text editor with root permissions and do it if you really need to.
open terminal, type Code:
sudo TEXTEDITORGOESHERE /etc/X11/xorg.conf Text editor for XFCE is mousepad, for gnome gedit

if your browsing it in a file manager it won't show up, just do
Code:
sudo TEXTEDITORGOESHERE /home/USER/.xinitrc
