![]() Kiba-Dock YouTube Video Kiba-dock Introduction As its name rather well suggests it, Kiba is a dock. That means it is a cool panel with icons to lauch programs and do other stuffs. In fact, it could very well be a replacement for the GNOME/KDE/XFCE panel, except that it's much cooler ! The most famous dock might be the Universal Dock introduced by Apple in Mac OS X, but Kiba is without any doubt the funniest, thanks to its amazing physics engine : Akamaru. Installing Kiba-dock in Ubuntu - click here for other installations Treviño manages a repo with kiba-dock, These can be accessed by adding the following to your sources.list file: Note: Currently, there are only 32 bit (x86) deb packages available, 64 bit users can use SVN. 1. Open a Terminal Window. 2. Type the following: # sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list 1. If you are using Edgy (6.10) version: Add the following lines to the end of the file: deb http://download.tuxfamily.org/3v1deb edgy beryl-svn deb-src http://download.tuxfamily.org/3v1deb edgy beryl-svn 1. If you are using Feisty (7.04) version: Add the following lines to the end of the file: deb http://download.tuxfamily.org/3v1deb feisty eyecandy deb-src http://download.tuxfamily.org/3v1deb feisty eyecandy 1. Save and Exit Gedit. 2. Run from the same terminal window: # wget http://download.tuxfamily.org/3v1deb/DD800CD9.gpg -O- | sudo apt-key add - # sudo apt-get update # sudo apt-get install kiba-dock # sudo apt-get install kiba-dock-dev # sudo apt-get install kiba-plugins PLEASE NOTE: this is a daily svn repo, which means you're dealing with snapshots of the latest and greatest, but not always the most stable! How to start Kiba-Dock Running it Now that you installed Kiba Dock, you might want to run it. Several options are offered to you : * You can run it with the command : $ kiba-dock. * If you are using GNOME, you should find it in your Applications->Accessories menu. * If you are using KDE, you should find it in your KMenu->Utilities menu. * If you are using XFCE, you should find it at XFCE Menu->Accessories->Kiba-Dock. How to use Kiba-Dock Click here - Too much to type out. Official Website - It's actually hard to find. When you search Google, you get everything else.

This App messed up my Ubuntu :S
I installed it according to the guide, whenever I opened the dock there was a black bar at the top of my desktop which blocked the view of everything but the dock, now after removing everything to do with kiba from Ubuntu I have no panels or icons on my desktop, wth do I do to get them back?

i don't think ubuntu is just for new people. it's all linux, if you work with it, you can basically transform it to anything.
