[FAQ] Add multimedia support to Fedora
This will install some of the necessary codecs and applications to watch videos and listen to music on your Fedora installation.
Open Terminal and login as root.
su
Type your password in. Then we can use yum to install the necessary applications.
yum install gstreamer-plugins-ugly ffmpeg
gstreamer will install support for MP3 and MPEG2.
ffmpeg will allow you to encode and decode MPEG1 audio and video, MPEG4, h263, ac3, asf, avi, real, mjpeg, and flash.
yum install xine xine-lib libdvdcss
This should add support for DVD, MPEG, Quicktime and AVIs.
