Default linux server
So how hard would it be to set up a linux file server for 15 users running windows?

If you know the ins and outs of windows file-sharing,very easily.

You could do it with a Ubuntu install

I believe you need to use the Samba client.....I coul be wrong (probably am, lol)

yes you need the samba client and server plus a config utility
and samba needs no extra matinence so...
