Ok, what version of Wine are you using? What is your distro? Drivers? Is WC3 set to run in at least Windows 2000? And also, don't do -opengl, do it by registry.

At the bottom of this page is a how-to on installing and running it. Good luck

If anyone is interested, I've gotten wc3 to work to _some_ degree.

I can run the demo, but it has audio that chops and lags the game every 5 seconds.

I can run RoC with a fixed exe (I presume TFT as well), but I doubt that would work with battle.net. (I never tried battle.net, maybe it would work...I don't know)

I can't run with regular exe and an iso...there is unfortunately no Daemon Tools for linux...

Try Wine 0.9.37, I know it works in that for sure on my set-up. Set the Windows to 2000 and to get to registry, just type regedit in console.

To set WC3 to run in OpenGL through registry, first go into regedit and find:
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\Warcraft III"

Then create a DWORD called "Gfx OpenGL" with the value set to 1.

I really recommend checking out this page, it has directions and everything for WC3.

Ok so your drivers are mest up. I am sorry but I am no nVidia guru, I only work with ATi but I know there is many people around here (roughly 90%) who use nVidia.
