well I appreciate your time. I did get x-archive. When I unpack into x-archive, it's telling me I'm missing all of the wrappers...

Under my "system" tab, I do have an icon for Perlmon (It's a blue 'PM'), however, when I click it, the hourglass runs for a few minutes, I get the tab at the bottom of my screen in the KDE panel, but then after about 3 seconds, it disappears with no application to be seen.
Uninstall PerlMon first via Adept. Then Unzip the zip file. Next right-click on the .deb and choose Kubuntu Package Menu / Install Package. Also if you're not connected to the internet the dependencies will not be installed and the program will not run...

Hope this helps...

You really don't need/want Xarchiver.. It's not the very best...

x-archiver...ooo boy...
I hope to have the problems that archiver brings about fixed some time soon, thanks to something new I learned last weekend.

It's nothing you do. It's just that Xarchiver won't preserve the directory tree(s) by default... You have to specify this when you extract. Just the Xfce users should have this problem...

Ok, I extracted it. Then I click on perlmon, home, dave, projects, and then I get to the purty red and white icon. I am connected to the internets. I right click, I type in my password. libglib-perl, libgtk2-perl not installed.

Adaptic (add/remove programs) tells me perlmon is broken and will be removed, however, when I ok changes, it doesn't let me remove it. I try removing it directly from Adept Manager and it gives me the KDE crash handler- adept manager crashed and caused the signal 11.

No problem. The price is still right. But can you give me an ETA as to when you might get around to getting it fixed?

Edit to add: That was fast!
