Adaptic (add/remove programs) tells me perlmon is broken and will be removed, however, when I ok changes, it doesn't let me remove it. I try removing it directly from Adept Manager and it gives me the KDE crash handler- adept manager crashed and caused the signal 11.
I just replicated this myself with Kubuntu 7.04. When the dependencies aren't installed and you request to purge via Adept it crashes. I did a backtrace and found no problems. I'm taking down the .deb until I can get this hammered out.

Wait... no.. it's no problem. I got it working (tried to edit my previous post before you saw it) Don't "purge". Just "remove" it and it's fine.

Here's to my third of many Linux victories (first was installing a distro, second was figuring out which distro I really wanted.) Thanks!
Just out of curiosity are you using 7.04 or 7.10?

Adept shouldn't crash during a purge.. I want to make sure this is not something I did. I don't want to see anyones system getting hosed because of me...

Default My PerlMon-0[1].1.3RC1.zip can not work!

Dear Sir,

I very happy to use the PerlMon like CPU-Z tools on linux.

but, I had some problem cause can't to use the good tool.

I had already download the PerlMon-0[1].1.2.zip & PerlMon-0[1].1.3RC1.zip,
condition is the same.

when I run the tool (perl perlmon), I got some error message below.

----------------------------------------------------------------
[root@localhost PerlMon-0.1.3RC1]# perl perlmon
Can't locate Gtk2.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib64/perl5/5.8.5/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.5 /usr/lib64/perl5/site_perl/5.8.5/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib64/perl5/site_perl/5.8.4/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib64/perl5/site_perl/5.8.3/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib64/perl5/site_perl/5.8.2/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib64/perl5/site_perl/5.8.1/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib64/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.5 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.4 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.3 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.2 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.1 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.5/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.4/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.3/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.2/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.1/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.5 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.4 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.3 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.2 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.1 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.0 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl .) at (eval 1) line 1.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at (eval 1) line 1.

Can't locate object method "new_from_file" via package "Gtk2::Image" (perhaps you forgot to load "Gtk2::Image"?) at Distro.pm line 40.
----------------------------------------------------------------

So,could you please help me to solve the problem?

Very thanks!

Best Regards
Sam YM Lin

@samlinn

It appears that you do not have Gtk2-perl installed for your distro. Gtk2-perl is the Gtk2 binding for perl. It should work after you get that installed.

It should also run if you type perl perlmon -n
