I'll use the good ol' Slackware saying.
"It'll be done when its done" ![]() I'm swamped in my studies right now. Working on a big project for my Data Structure class, writing network programs like crazy, building the TCP protocol from the ground out of of UDP , Doing a case study with a Prof. on making a new Java class which will be an extension on the datagramSocket class, but it'll be called UnreliableDatagramSocket and will be used to test the reliable of applications that use UDP as there transport layer protocol. Also doing programming for hardware, basically working up to designing our own CPU by the end of the semester.

Still working on the PerlMon 0.1.2 Deb installer... In Kubuntu Adept crashes when you pruge the app. I'm totally confuzzled.... It works fine if you just choose to remove it...
__________________When you purge it Adept goes wonky... ![]() Tried backtracing and get no results.... It could be Adept.... When I have some free time I'll continue the project... Also I want to test on more Debian distros.... ie: Etch, MEPIS, Mint Daryna... etc...

Most likely it is a problem with /proc.
You can type in the console cat /proc/cpuinfo and see what it tells you. The problem with using /proc to determine info about the system it that its proven to not always be correct! Its by far the easiest way though to get info about the system, thats why I'm using it currently. Later I'll try and find a way to do it with cpuid once I have time this winter. Its just a pain to figure out, plus I don't know C very well . I'll get there though. I cannot seem to use dmidcode to pull the info out of the BIOS as it wont show the overclock. So now I only have cpuid to work with.
