I still can't figure out why some people have been getting that error. Some it works and some others get the error.
Your getting b/c its saying it can't find the file settings/Settings.pm.

Try what reset3x suggested and let me know it is works.

Running Xubuntu 7.04 too... Thats what I had to do to get PerlMon working...

apt says I have them installed and they are up to date :\

I created a fake ./settings/Settings.pm to see what would happen and got

Code:

./settings/Settings.pm did not return a true value at HD.pm line 24.

I assume its still not happy with the settings file.

how are you starting the program?

just clicking it doesn't work so I am using the terminal
I've tried

perlmon
perl perlmon
./perlmon

all give the same error

Its b/c you'd have to change a line in HD.pm then. You shouldn'd need to make a ./settings/Settings.pm b/c the file should be there to begin with. perl however wants in the the current working directory ./Settings.pm

Just had an idea... If you're using xarchiver are your preserving the directory structure when you extract the files? You need to check off Extract files with full path...

Just a thought...

Great!! Glad you got it working.. Most GUI based archive apps will preserve the directory structure by default... Xarchiver doesn't.
