use native ETQW. You must have original DVD during installation.
http://zerowing.idsoftware.com:6969/...d55327.torrent
and the Howto http://zerowing.idsoftware.com/linux/etqw/
BTW, you'll have more FPS then in Windows.

2142 supported in Cedega.

Bioshock -- can't help

I just tried running CSS on my ubuntu partition, it loads then instantly crashes. I'm guessing its the linux ati drivers, as my 7900gs ran it perfectly just at a very low fps. Anyone else found this problem or is it just me?

Hi all,
this is my first post here.

I use Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron 64bit,unfortunately, i dont know cedega, and only a bit wine, because i prefer native games for linux, free or not.

I play at UnrealTournament 2004
and sometimes at WOP (World of Padman)

And i'm still fairly inexperienced on Linux
Ok presentation, finished.

I write a guide for install UT2K4 on Ubuntu 64bit

GUIDE:UNREAL TOURNAMENT 2004 on UBUNTU 7.04-8.04 64bit (native installer)

to go on windowed mode you need to add some lines at your xorg.conf

add option ServerFlags

Code:
Section "ServerFlags"
        Option "AllowDeactivateGrabs" "true"
EndSection
to minimize the window will need to press: Alt+Enter and then to release the mouse cursor Ctrl+Alt+/ numeric keypad.
To restore it instead, always Alt+Enter.

And now i have a little question, because i use a IGU Nvidia 6150 with dedicated and shared memory on my Abit NF-M2 nView; i found this interesting discussion
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=611388
for disable the window manager and start one X session only for play, and increase performance during the game.

I tried to give the commands of the two scripts from tty1, but without much success in the sense that gdm ok, closes and opens a session of X smooth, but i can not go forward.

You know give me some suggestions?
Moreover, where should I put the script?

Thanks

I'm a bit behind in my Linux gaming, but recently noticed that a new version of Alien Arena is out. 7.10 is basically a bunch of fixes (reflective water and bumpmapping now work correctly on fglrx) and a few additions in the form of maps and looks. It seems to be much better optimized towards fglrx now than the previous version was, although nvidia cards still play it better. Can't say that I love the new soundtracks on some of the levels; I don't know what is the obsesion with orchestra type "epic" soundtracks.
You can get it either from get-deb in a ready-made .deb, or download the executables, which are now 64bit compatible (no need to compile the whole game anymore). The main site has .rpm too for our non-Debian heathe... erm, friends .
