Today is officially a great day for linux gaming. I sucessfully found a clean way of installing Fable: The Lost Chapters onto linux and allowing it to run. I came up with my own way to install the game without using any cracks or glitches or patches. The game runs smoothly without any graphically hiccups (surprisingly since it is published by Microsoft) and so far so good (I am still playing now).

I read around on WineAppDB and also on the Ubuntu Forums and Google but found nothing but people copying the files from the windows drive and most people cannot get the game to run for long or run clean or any such. There was no info on actually installing the game with no illegal ways but I have came up with my own way.

Simply copy all of the CD's over to one folder. Overwrite any files necessary. Run the installer from that folder and then simply before the installer asks to change the disc, edit the autorun file to be the proper disc name (1,2,3,4) and you will be just fine installing from the hard drive.

You get a Rep+ for that. I tried for a couple of days before I gave up.

I could have sworn I signed u p for this club. I have managed to run NWN, Guild Wars, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, and KotOR 1 and 2 so far. I tried FEAR but didn't have any luck.

Thank you. To my knowledge that is the only working way to install it without using illegal methods which I am personally not for. I will add you now. What OS are you using?
