There is a thread on this site about configuring WINE, as well as one for "configuring WINE for games"
I would check those out.

This is because you're using absolute pathnaming. When you're using absolute pathnaming, you define its absolute directory, and everything starts with /. What you typed was an example of a relative pathname. What you were telling the terminal was that there is a folder called home/<username> when you were already in /home/<username>. So you were ultimately telling the terminal that you wanted to go to this directory: /home/<username>/home/<username> If you want to cd to a folder that's already in your pwd (present working directory), you can quickly move to it by doing cd <foldername>, and that folder name would be without a preceding /. For example, if you had a folder called "photos" in your home directory, you would be able to cd to it by opening up the terminal and just typing: Code:
cd photos Also, always remember that your terminal always opens up in your /home/<username> directory, also known simply as ~. To very quickly cd to your /home/<username> directory, type simply "cd" and then hit enter without any arguments. Or you can do "cd ~"; that's the same thing. Aaaaaand... If you're in a directory way out there and say you want to cd to your Desktop, you can do: "cd ~/Desktop". There's today's lesson on the cd command

Try the actual Ubuntu forums.... the guys over here are nice... the guys in the ubuntu forms can be rather nasty at times. besides, if you've been doing M$ for 10 years, switching to Linux takes some adjustment.
