Ok if like me you've got Ubuntu installed and your a bit noob and
all that writing on other websites and commands are scaring you. (this is assuming you have wine installed if needed) This should help. Loki's nub guide to Linux teamspeak. Installing the teamspeak client Ok first things first your going to need the teamspeak Linux client, you get it from HERE Ok so you've got the client, right now you need to double click the .tar file and extract it to your desktop is preferable. ![]() Ok so now you should have the extracted Teamspeak client folder on your desktop, inside the folder will be a file called: Setup.sh Right click > open. "Do you want to run "setup.sh", or display its contents?" Select Run on the far right. then you should be greeted with the installer: ![]() So here you can just install as you would with any windows based program. When it's finished installing go to home > username. Now you should have a folder called Teamspeak2 etc.. Inside the folder there is a file named "Teamspeak" ![]() Ok i'll show you how to make a cool icon for it first before we get into using teamspeak, if you don't want a uber cool taskbar icon then skip this next step. Uber cool icon. Ok this is a rather easy way of making a cool looking taskbar/panel shortcut for running Teamspeak. Ok so that file named "Teamspeak" hold click and drag it onto anyone of your panels/taskbars. then right click the icon and go to properties. So now in properties give the shortcut a name like 'teamspeak' then on the left of the window there should be a little box to choose a icon. Choose whatever icon you like then click Ok: ![]() Then thats it, Teamspeak is ready to launch through its taskbar icon Configuring sound. Ok this bit is really easy but i made a pigs ear of it when i installed Teamspeak so i'll make it easy for you. Go to system > Preferences > sound. Ok make sure all the sound events are set to 'Auto detect' Apart from Sound capture which should be OSS (Open sound system) ![]() Now that all that is out the way make sure in the volume control your mic isn't muted. So now you have teamspeak installed and ready to run ![]() Any questions or feedback feel free to post, thanks. Loki
