Didnt work. Could not open the file /home/deni/Desktop/NVIDI…ux-x86-100.14.19-pkg1.run.

gedit has not been able to detect the character coding.
Please check that you are not trying to open a binary file.
Select a character coding from the menu and try again

I hear there's "envy" and "restricted drivers manager" in Administration. I've never tried either, though. That's why I like Sabayon Linux; it detected everything right off the bat and installed it for me

actually, try this:
Code:
sudo aptitude reinstall hal
if those don't work, do this:
Code:
sudo gedit /etc/init.d/rc
click find and look for "concurrency". if the variable is "shell", change it to "none"
