My 1G nano worked on Linux until it broke [grumbles about shoddy, cheap iCrap] and would automatically sync with Rythembox. The iTunes store, however, would not work, and I couldn't play restricted music in Linux, so you have to decrypt it (hymn.org) before you switch to Linux so that you can play it on your computer.

I use Ubuntu btw.
