Ok I was folding here, and the times are jumping around... first they started out at 12 mins per %, but then they jumped to about 20 something. What's with this?

First off, is this on the same work unit? If so, i'll bet there is some process running using up resources. F@H uses the idle cycles. If a program needs resources, F@H gives them up and will be slower. It will obviously folder faster when you are not at the computer or it is not doing anything than when you are messing around on it. I'm sure you knew this, but check your processes. At idle and on the same WU, times should be very consistent in Linux. Mine were always +/- 1 second. WinSMP varies a decent bit though.

Interesting - you didn't change anything about the system, did you? Kernel? New modules installed; or perhaps a new service?
Mine are much more consistent than Windows - plus or minus 5 seconds of 14 minutes.

Why does each "percent" have to take the same amount of time?
Maybe it's tougher for the computer to calculate one part of the WU project than another.

As root: rm -r /pathtofolder / is the directory under file system and it goes from there. I believe that is the right code that will delete that folder and everything in it. My folder is always /folding . But yea, may want to try one of those routes.

Ok, already deleted the WU once, guess I'll try reinstalling it. Do you think a HDD going bad could be the cause as well?
