Also, compare the size of Sabayon to the size of Ubuntu. Sabayon is a DVD image(4.4G) whereas Ubuntu has managed to stay on a CD (700M). This comes into the equation when internet is a limiting factor

It comes with some...mp3 at least.

But that's why Sabayon impresses them...everything out of the box.

I understand this, but my friends would still be babies about it.

Not a problem as it's usually me burning the DVD for them. Everyone around here has at least DSL though.

Like I said guys, don't get me wrong, Ubuntu has great documentation, problably the best of any Distro, and for someone wanting to get a start learning Linux, it's problably the best. However, for functionality right off the dvd, which is most likely the only part my friends will ever see, as they don't want to learn Linux and just want to see how functional it is, and either won't install because they're scared, or because they won't want to reboot to game, Sabayon wins imo.
