Ubuntu, SUSE, Fedora, PCLinuxOS, and Mint are all considered beginners distros.

Was kind of thinking that was the answer. It looks all the same, maybe Mint is a little more "Windows" than the rest. But I think I'll go with the new Ubuntu distros

Ok, it's official... I am now using Ubuntu .. it's actually pretty sick. I might end up keeping this as my laptop OS, as soon as I figure out the sound thing.
