Let me start by saying I only use linux for folding and am VERY LUCKY I figured that out...
I am trying to get a couple different VMs working and get the tar.gz whatever downloaded but that's it... If someone knows of or has like a new proof walk through on unpacking/installing/opening these files that would be great... I'm trying to get RealVNC to work and it won't... ![]() I'm running the 8.04 LTS version if that matters... Thanks for any and all help...

To unpack tar.gz execute tar -xf in the terminal. In ubuntu i think you can right click and extract.

i think i have a guide on it check it out
its in my sig, its very basic and i dunno if it works for every single one but it usualy did the trick for me when i was on linux

.gz = gunzip
