can someone help me with this? i want to get my ati card working with games. i get about 12-30fps when im in cs1.6. i usually get 400fps with developer 1 on in windows xp.

Your problem is Wine + Source. Many experience a drastic reduction in performance with Source based games under Wine (be it nvidia or ATI). Not saying that the ATI drivers aren't to blame either; Wine is mostly optimized for the nvidia binary, since the devs. got tired of all the OpenGL "holes" the ATI driver had (and still has).

He's using 1.6, not Source.

Have you tried ATI's installer and/or are you using the restricted driver set?

Either way, Wine is just bad. Really few games run like they should. Make sure you have the latest Wine build and the latest ATI drivers (8.6).

everything is running and is 100%. wine and my ati drivers are fully up to date.

There is really nothing much you can do. Try playing with some of the Wine settings; try some registry tweaks too. Also, check the Wine application database for any tips.
