I currently have Ubuntu installed on my desktop, I miss gaming and have to be ready for Diablo 3 so I am going to go back to dual booting. I will be doing Vista and a flavor of Linux. I'm most familiar with Ubuntu, but I am looking for a change, or looking to see if there is a "better" distro. I have heard great things about openSUSE but seeing that its not debian based is kind of a turn off. I really like the package handler in Ubuntu but I'm always up for learning new things. What are some other popular distros? I was looking at mint but it doesn't have a 64 bit version yet.

Mandriva has some good reviews out for it.
You could also try Debian!

I think you should give SUSE a try. I think you'll find that the package manager in there is just as good as the one in Ubuntu. It's fairly straightforward, and easy.

Fedora with a Gnome desktop is what I use, and I`m in love.
If you want a challenge, go Slackware, and if you want new stuff, XFCE is the way to go.

OpenSuse is okay. Not as extensive repositories as Ubuntu and the packages tend to be a bit older in comparison. Yast is awesome thought, despite it having the tendency to get in the way of proper troubleshooting (not a problem if you're new to Linux, but an annoyance for some expert users who like doing things "their" way). The package manager is good too, but I generally loathe managers for .rpm distros; usually just replace them with something else like SMART.

Yay, Suse!
Suse 11 especially is really nice. For a beginner at least it seems infinitely easier than most distro's (Heck, I'd say Ubuntu even). If I need to change a setting, why I just go to Yast.
