Ok.. I have tried linux in the past and want to try it again.. The problem is I have these games here that are made for windows.
What I would like to know and maybe someone can write a FAQ on this. Which Linux Distro is the easiest to use windows software on like Windows games.. if that is possible. I have heard about porting games to Linux but I am lost right there. And if it is possible What are the steps involved in getting this done. So.. 1. Best or most compatible Linux for Windows Software (games) 2. Steps involved for porting? Thank You

I've never used it, but Linspire (formerly Lindows) tries to be as close to windows as possible. However, the best solution to this is dual booting, which is much easier than trying to run Windows programs under Linux.

Well the main plan here is to dule boot until I fugure Linux out then slowly Migrate to Linux exclusively and If I can get my favorite game to play on Linux then its by by Windows.. because for me what it boils down to is gaming if I can do that then the switch would be worth it.
I am downloading the Live version of Linspire right now.. the version that runs off CD to try it out. But I am looking for a free version of Linux to use. I know Linspire is like 59.00 and it would be worth it if I could port games easly to it.
