I am not sure the benefits of using relatime over noatime. They seem to do almost the same thing from what I can tell. Linus Torvalds and Ignar Molnar had a debate over this very issue. Linkage: http://kerneltrap.org/node/14148

well try Arch Linux you can customize even your distro...all can be done quiet easy and everything will be really fast...
__________________Arch linux is the fastest distro so far (at least for me)

Due to the complexity of Linux, often the fastest distro is the hardest, or most involved to install, like Gentoo, or Linux from Scratch.
