The only wierd thing is, why isn't there an option to disconnect from wireless networks like in Windows?

Wow, everything is free.
Right-click the icon and you can disable your wireless.

No. You are joking right? It can't be that simple can it after I saw another guy from another forum ask the same question to receive a response of 'delete the network'

My laptop had a dedicated switch for turning wireless networking on/off. I'll try to somehow perhaps macro them to work tomorrow.

Oh and what is the start menu type thing called? I want to macro my ex-Windows key to open that

The fast way to set it up:
Code:
gconftool-2 -g /apps/metacity/global_keybindings/panel_main_menu Super_L
The slow way:

1. Go to System > Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts.
2. Scroll down to Show Main Menu.
3. Click on whatever key binding it already shows, to change it.
4. Hit the Windows key.

Might be worth updating the guide to mention the fact that broadcom now have fully working linux wireless drivers that will not require any messing mostly.

Ubuntu 8.10 has them already, and Fedora ones can be obtained from rpmfusion.
