Default fstab in Ubuntu

How do i edit it in Ubuntu,the permissions wont allow me even when i am in the root terminal so what am i doing wrong?help plz,also the get command for kubuntu would be useful

You should be able to edit it if you're using root account or sudo. I don't know what editor you're using but in vi, you can save it using :w! and it will save your changes. Make sure you make a copy of the original just in case you make a mistake.
