The grub package is a linux thing. Sounds like your comp is trying to boot the linux OS you tried to delete. Tell it too boot from your windows partition. That or use something like partition magic to double check and delete partitions.
Hopefully you didn't delete windows by accident

Burn parition magic to a disk and boot it on your main machine. Use the program to double check your partition and delete the linux installation.
Next time I might suggest a live CD .

If you still have your Vista install disk, you could just use the recovery command prompt to fix the MBR.

I was just going to suggest this as well. He is correct, this will rewrite the Windows MBR back to the MBR of your hard drive. When you use GRUB it over writes the Windows MBR and manages the Windows OS as well. When you remove the Linux distro it also removes GRUB, thus your valid MBR data.

This will do it (although I'd use your Windows 7 disc rather than your Vista disc, if you're staying with Win7!)
