Ubuntu is just a few minutes away from downloading, and I figured I'd ask you guys some questions;
I'm gonna install it on a flash drive. Will this cause performance lag? I have a wireless reciever that requires drivers to run on Windows OS. Will I need to download the same drivers for Ubuntu, or are they built in? Nvidia drivers, what do I do about them? ...are they also built in, or are there special versions? I can't really think of any other questions, but if you guys have anything to say to a complete noob with Ubuntu (and Linux distro's in general) please say it now. Thanks in advance, GMX.

Actually, I find booting Ubuntu off of a USB drive to be faster than running it off the CD.
__________________On wireless drivers: Your card will more than likely be supported, the only cards that have problems are the Broadcomm cards found in laptops. All other drivers should also be "built in" and will install automatically when you boot up. If you ever have a problem with drivers, go to System>Drivers (or something like that) and you can install any 3rd party drivers (nVidia) if needed. Hope that helps.

Well thanks for the answers, nice to hear that Ubuntu has the drivers built in.
I'm gonna make the bootable flash drive now, so give me 30 minutes or so, and I'll be writing to you guys from Ubuntu. Hopefully!

Sorry for the double post, just another update. I used this tutorial to make a bootable flash drive and when I go to the boot menu I can't see any USB devices. I saw 2 things that could've been it; 'USB-FDD' and 'USB-ZIP'. I tried those both and they came up with Boot Error. I'm making another drive as we speak (using another tutorial). Gonna see if it works.
I'll keep you guys updated. EDIT - I don't want to make a third post, so I'll just edit this one. It didn't work. I tried to boot from 'ZIP100', 'USB-FFD' and 'USB-ZIP'. 'ZIP100' and 'USB-FFD' forwarded me to the Windows Boot Manager, and 'USB-ZIP' prompted 'Boot Error'. This is odd. I can see the drive in My Computer.

I'm on Ubuntu now. Burned a Live CD and got it working that way.
Haven't installed it yet, just trying it out. Seems good so far, I like the fonts. Although I can't really find my way around anything. Hell, I just spent 10 minutes trying to change my resolution.

In Windows, use LiveUSB Creator to make a bootable USB drive.
__________________https://fedorahosted.org/liveusb-creator/ You can also do this from within Ubuntu I believe, however I've never tried it while on a LiveCD. Ah, i can't really remember where that option is exactly, it's under one of the menus though. You should see it with a little bit of surfing.
