I've been Googling this for half an hour. I want to try UNR with my laptop which has a Core Duo T2050 cpu so that i could actually have some use of it and can't quite find out if the Ubuntu notebook remix is Intel Atom exclusive or just optimized for it.

You could just install normal Ubuntu 9.04, and then install the netbook packages...
(sorry, I can't remember the exact names of all the packages) Edit: This link should help - just change the word "intrepid" to "jaunty" anywhere it appears

it should work...
AFAIK 9.04 can even run on ARM chips, so why wouldn't it run on a C2D chip?
