Default Help with Knoppix

Well since my main rig is down and won't be up till I get my memory I want to try to run live Knoppix cd off of a old machine (=/). When I boot up I get the screen that gives me the options of F2,F3 and to boot. When I just hit enter like it says I get a black screen and nothing happens. I went to the F3 screen and saw some settings. It showed a couple of resolution settings and monitor frequencies. The vsync was at 85 and the hsync was at 74. I'm using and older monitor so I was wondering if this making it go out of range? When I just hit enter like it syas to boot into knoppix, the screen goes black but the light on the monitor stays green.

BTW, is knoppix particularly difficult to pick up? lol... Might be a while before my mem comes back.

Well...even tho this is from last week, I'll step up and answer it, I'm in a helpful mood Ok, knoppix is just like debian...with kde, and it boots off a cd, so think of it as ubuntu. its fairly easy to use, I've used it myself. and as for your monitor setting...well I'm not sure about that but try adjusting your monitor ranges.
