what os will run on a pentium 3?
I am currently building a tech station and the motherboard being used has an intel 815 chipset motherboard with a pentium 3. I have 2 pentium 3's to choose from; one that is 733mhz, one that is 800mhz. The system will have 128mb of ram and probably will have an ati rage pro, I think it is 8mb. So, what linux os will run on this little rig?

Ubuntu is an obvious easy choice. I've run it on my netbook no prob.
I think most distros will run fine with some tweaking.

Windows XP will run fine. I have run with WAY lower specs and it ran very smooth.

Some of the smaller distros with lightweight windows managers would work for you. Stick to OpenBox or XFCE window managers. You might try something like DSL or Puppy Linux. Depending on how much you know about it, you could make a lot of distros lightweight enough to run on there.

Arch will run on it and it will feel surprisingly fast...

I also have some other things:
__________________1. I need it to support wireless cards(I assume any distro should be fine) 2. Will xp pro run fine on this? 3. I do want to try linux, the problem is that I am pretty much a noob at linux. So, aside from those things, would ubuntu or linux mint run fine on the pentium 3?

Ubuntu was a bit heavy for my P3/1Ghz w/ 256mb of RAM. Downloaded Xubuntu, worked beautifully.
