Slackware on a default install should use syslinux, on a dual boot option it will use LILO. LILO is like a GRUB version of syslinux, sort of. Grub is easier to set up, but LILO is far more flexible.

OP wasn't talking about dual booting, they were talking about virtualisation (well, OS-in-an-OS)
