Just installed Ubuntu 9.04 (everything works fine and it looks amazing) and the only thing bugging me is the lack of Asus support for it. There is sound coming out but I can't adjust the volume. Is there any way to install the drivers on it? I will need really step by step instructions though because I'm an extreme noob.
PS: Heroes of Newerth has a native client and it works awesome!

Open a terminal (applications -> accessories -> Terminal)
and type Code:
alsamixer ![]() Then adjust Master and Front (its called front on mine anyway) and see if the volume changes. If it does let me know.

sudo apt-get install pavucontrol
Then look in your menu and open up pulse audio volume control. It should list volume controls by application -- for instance you might have different volume controls for system sounds and RhythmBox and Flash videos. Before you do this you might have to open up GnomeMixer (its the little volume icon on your taskbar) and mess around with the switches and channels to make sure they are set correctly.

The card is very linux compatible. I bought one specifically for that reason, ALSA supports it right out of the box without much configuration but as stated above you just have to unmute the output with alsamixer (it is a one time thing).

Thanks for the response guys. I think it just needed to update because now it seems it is supporting it fully without me doing anything!
