Ok i've just installed ubuntu on my work laptop because its getting old and it wasn't up running windows 7. Now after installing it i couldn't find a way to get the res over 800x600 (1280x1024 screen). I was looking on the net and found this website for intel drivers but i don't know how to install them. Could someone give me the low down on how to install them?
Many thanks for anybody who can show me how install them as i'm new to linux

Did you check your Xorg.conf file and see if it was actually using the drivers?

Yes, it shouldn't be empty though.
This is the command you need to enter in a terminal window. Code:
gksudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf Linux is case-sensitive, so make sure you capitalize the X in X11.
