Default Just upgraded to 9.10 wireless works great!!

Last night I upgraded all my machines to 9.10

Here is the exciting part. It worked perfectly out of box on my wife's Acer Aspire One. I didn't have to do anything special wireless works perfect including the led light.

It also worked perfectly on my HTPC using a wireless card. Didn't have to mess with ndis wrapper.

The wireless support just keeps getting better. I like the new launcher theme on netbook remix too.

Has anyone played with Ubuntu One yet?

Everything seems to be fixed in 9.10, i'm having no problems with it

I've been meaning to have a play with ubuntu one but my download limit sort of makes it impossible to do

My 9.10 install went very smooth also . Wifi and all other drivers worked perfectly on first boot.

I have not played with Ubuntu One yet. I might do that tomorrow.

Yeah, Karmic is awesome. ATI drivers are OpenGL 1.5 now ; lets see what new things I can run. Only thing is that I can't seem to be able to share my desktop printer with my laptop any more; I can share folders just fine, it just can't find the darn printer. Oh well, maybe after I upgrade my main desktop to Karmic it will resolve itself. Oh, and xorg.conf is finally axed now; Lord knows what we will rely on now.

lol for me, I had to connect my S10-2 netbook via Enthernet cable and download the Broadcom driver for wireless to work.

Almost everything seems to work great now...darn mouse and the two-finger scrolling doesn't seem to work though, so I'll have to look into that later.

Xorg.conf is not there any more. Check it and see. Unless they changed the location of the file, which I don't know why since every single distro out there uses the same basic filing structure. The xorg log is still there, but they are using something else to configure X (HAL it seems). X can configure itself without the file, so it's no big deal. You can generate your own xorg.conf file too if you want, which is what I plan to do if it gives me problems.

Only found one minor bug so far, and it is very minor. The pidgin facebook plugin won't install

oh and i swapped empathy for pidgin, that was the first thing i did, lol. I'm a pidgin fanboi

But that would just increase boot times if HAL (they don't use HAL anymore) was used to configure X.

hal deprecation

Ubuntu 9.10 RC's underlying technology for power management, laptop hotkeys, and handling of storage devices and cameras maps has moved from "hal" (which is in the process of being deprecated) to "DeviceKit-power", "DeviceKit-disks" and "udev".
