I don't know if it is gfire causing it or if it's pidgin or it's because I got the 9.10 beta. When I go to send a message I press enter and then it just closes idk if it is still running or it quits. It happens sometimes and sometimes it's fine. It's very annoying. I only use gfire on pidgin.

Run it from terminal, it sounds like it's Segfaulting and you have to submit a bug report for it.

Yeah, segfault as I said. Try removing gfire.

Where are you getting gfire from? The repos or from gfireproject.org?
I remember wanting to use gfire back then and I could never get it to work either, although I'm still considering compiling from their SVN, which I have not done yet.

I got it from the repos + the 64-bit .deb both do it.
