ok guys, I've been trying for two days to get GRUB off of my system. namely because I don't have my linux partitions anymore for GRUB to read.
Grub never worked right after installing ubuntu. Always got a GRUB Error 21 and it never loaded succesfully. I've been using super grub loader boot disk to boot into my hard drive's os's and that's been working fine. Well turns out my hardware is a little to advanced for linux to use atm (no sound card support, raid non existent.) so I'm defaulting back to windows. In windows, I deleted my Linux partitions and restored (or so I thought) the boot sectors using the command "bootsect /nt60 c:" no go I've also used bcdedit to confirm that windows is setup to be the default boot device but still grub loads. I'm at a loss. I can't get grub to go away no matter what I do. In windows XP it was a simple command of fixmbr. In dos it was fdisk /mbr. These commands no longer exist in windows vista/7. I've also tried using the startup repair in windows 7 recovery options. still a no go. The first time I ran it, it recognized that winloader wasn't loading first and tried to fix it. Second time, it saw no problem but tried to fix it anyway. So I'm completely stumped. How do I make GRUB ****?

You have to rewrite the windows bootloader to the master boot record of the hard drive. Here is a guide to do it in XP and vista. I've never done it in vista, sorry. Basically, you're going to need to boot up from your windows install CD and use the recovery console to rewrite the MBR.
Hope that helps EDIT: Just double checked your fixmbr bit....yeah the command is a little different in vista, it threw me off too.

Pop your Vista DVD in and boot from it.
