Hi all
I'm trying to get Kubuntu 9.04 64bit working in VMware workstation. It's installed and running, but it is refusing to connect to the internet, despite the fact that it pings my host OS (Win7 64bit) without issue. It's set to NAT, before anyone asks, because when I set it to bridged mode it doesn't connect at all. It can see my shared folders on my host OS as well, but when I try to connect to it's IP, Windows says it can't access, but that's probably because nothing is shared on Kubuntu. I'm trying to get it to fold, but that's gonna be a problem if it can't connect. Also, I can't seem to install VMware tools. When I cd to the directory and run vmware-install.pl, it says no such directory or file, despite the fact that it is actually there .Suggestions? EDIT: I finally got VMware tools working and installed, but I still can't connect to the web. WTH? Konquerer says the connection to the server was refused every time I try to load a page.

Try emulating a different network adapter.

It's OK, I found my problem. Windows 7. I booted up to XP and it connected first time. Methinks I'm gonna leave XP there when I get a retail Windows 7 install. I just don't get why it has no issue connecting when it's running in VMWare Player.
