Unlocked and Overclocked (960T X6@4.0) ALL AMD!

| Description | This machine began life as a budget gamer / main office machine with an unlocked 555BE@4.0 and hacked GTX260 SLI. It was bumped to a 960T which unlocked to X6 and ran 4.0 no sweat, but was demoted to a presentation room after it was replaced with a 3570K. It's now come back to life as my third gaming machine at home (I have 3 boys who all play PC games/homework, so it was needed lol) in a HAF XB which is a big cube, but sits nicely on top of a small file cabinet next to a desk. The original 2xGTX260s went ebay, and were replaced by a single HD6870 making this an all-AMD box! It's booting off a 128GB M4, with a 320GB WD HDD in one of the hot-swap bays (which are really handy). The original open-box M4A79XTD Evo still provides the platform for 4.0GHz on 6 cores, cooled by an H100 that blows out the front of the case with push/pull fan config. A single 20CM fan blows down from the top. The sides and top can be pulled making it like a test bench, but the bottom of the XB is pretty cramped. At full tilt the 240mm RAD throws alot of heat out the front, making it great in the winter, but in the summer I'll probably run this machine as a 4.2-4.3GHz X4. It can boot/run 4.5GHz as X4 at 1.5V and 4.4 as X6 at the same voltage. It gets spanked by the 3570Ks I have if you run numbers, as well as the 2500K, but I still really like this rig for being NOT intel or NVidia and it games like a champ. |
