Baasha, Hello. Hey, I have a question for you. I too have a 3970x processor and am in the process of overclocking it to 4.6GHz. Although our difference is the MB as mine is an Asus P9X79 Deluxe. Can your provide any help with the settings. I have 16 Corsair Dominator Platinum 1866 memory that are set in XMP Profile #1 at 1.5 volt default. I am running Turbo mode manually setting each core to 46. I will be setting the CPU Current Capability to 140% and enterjing 140 for CPU Power Thermal Control. Do you think there are any other settings I should touch? By the way I have a Corsair H100i. (It turned out to be fantastic after a firmware update, which quieted the fans down to almost none audible). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Caleb
I guess I should have mentioned that I'm probably going to set the CPU Voltage manually at 1.36. ;-)
Hey Caleb,

I didn't see your comment until today. Regarding OC'ing the 3970X, I found that it performs really well with low voltage. I used to have 1.328V for 4.5Ghz on the 3930K but for the 3970X, I get the same clocks (4.5Ghz) @ 1.304V! The RAM voltage for me is 1.65V; you will have to look on the RAM sticker to find out your setting.
