Rig type Gaming Rig
Description Still waiting for parts to be delivered and still filling out the rig builder info. The video card, cpu, and motherboard will be replaced in 2013 with GeForce GTX 700/Radeon HD 8000 series video cards, Haswell/Ivy Brige-E, and a X87/X79 motherboard. Most of the custom-made parts and modification will happen in 2013 due to prior 2012 budget limitations and influences. The 2013 work will include: custom-made mounting rails for new HDD cages, custom made trays for the HDD cages, lighting, radiator adapter plates, updated cable management, sleeving of all cables, etc.

I am in the process of buying up new tools and various oddball parts, which will allow me to finally do hardware modification (again) and basic custom part construction. Found out that I'm getting a decent bonus and a lot of extra money for all the extra shifts I've been working.

Part Update: 2 x Polk Audio Monitor60 Series II Floorstanding Loudspeaker (Black), 1 x Polk Audio CS2 Series II Center Channel Speaker (Black), 1 x 100ft 12AWG Enhanced Loud Oxygen-Free Copper Speaker Wire Cable (excessive AWG for the speakers, but the price wasn't all that different)
Purchase Update: 1 x Polk Audio PSW505 12-Inch Powered Subwoofer (Black), some various tools and external cables.
Update: Ordered new power tools and should have them in-hand next week. Hopefully can start doing early modification work and sleeving before the end of the month. Also, plan to purchase an actual camera (again) worthy of a build log, do not want to make people suffer pictures from a cellphone camera.

Still on the fence about purchasing paracord (cheap) or kobra sleeving (expensive-ish) for all my cables.
Update: Ordered Nvidia GeForce GTX Titan. Started early custom work on water-cooling parts and communicating with powder coating companies to get some parts powder coated.
Update: Ordered a few hundred feet of various colors of paracord to sleeve various cables. Modified compression fitting rings' ID to allow sleeving to allow both sleeving and tubing to fit. Now need to find a way to wet paint or powder coat them.
Update: Ordered a Canon PowerShot ELPH 110 HS (pictures and build log likely on the way when that arrives), even more tools, various oddball part bulk orders, and vinyl.

Upcoming orders: Another monitor arm for my older ASUS VW266H Black 25.5 LCD Monitor; aluminum/copper/acrylic/abs plastic sheets for making custom parts; 4/8/12/16 x SAS/SATA capable hot-swap backplanes for custom storage device bays and cages; another GeForce GTX TITAN within the next few months; video card waterblocks; in bulk molex terminal pins (derp, not enough left).
Update: Tools and other miscellaneous parts came in. However, the battery, SD card, and other extras for the camera are missing. Another delay.
Update: Got the camera extra a few weeks ago. Got the extra monitor arm in, but it's going to end up being used for an Overlord Tempest X270OC - Revision 2 whenever that arrives next month. Got more mounting materials in.

Upcoming orders:
Z87 Motherboard - purchase depending on performance, features, etc. over my current Sandy Bridge Z68 setup
GeForce GTX TITAN waterblock - waiting on part availability and proper reviews
Aluminum/Copper/Acrylic/ABS plastic sheets - for making various custom parts and panels;
4/8/12/16 x SAS/SATA capable hot-swap backplanes - for custom storage device bays and cages (I just need to make arrangements with a supplier);
Molex Terminal Pins (BULK) - I delayed ordering these to find a better price per part ratio.
Case Labs - More accessories needed as I changed the tentative build layout.
Vinyl - need more for updated build layout.
Water-cooling Fittings - Need more
