That's the thing about Macs. They're proprietary. There aren't usually just extra drivers for different components just lying around somewhere on the internet. Apple is expecting that everyone is using the same hardware.

My rule of thumb is always do an archive and install on a new major version of OSX. I have had MAJOR issues with 10.5 using the upgrade method. Corrupt preference files, ethernet ports not working, wireless not working, kernel panics... some pretty screwed up stuff.

Some upgrades go fine and dandy. My Mac Mini worked great. Same with my G4 Powerbook. But, the Mac Pro was not happy, and neither was the MacBook Pro.

yer my macvook pro wound't start up after i restarted after install, so i had to do a freash install
