Can you boot from the Time Machine backup? I'm on Tiger and currently using Carbon Copy Cloner. It makes a perfect copy of the HDD of your choice, and you can boot from it if you need to (booting from USB too.) Then you can use CCC again from your backup volume and restore it onto your internal volume if you ever need to.

CCC is free. There's also a backup program called "Super Duper!" I have it, but I haven't used it. I think it does the same exact thing, though.

You can google them and download them both for free.

I can get my hands on an I MAc.... I think it has 128 MB RAM Would i be disapionted? I've never laid hands on a MAC. But I am intrigued!!!
