I have a quick Q I need help with.

Can you run OSX [Leopard] using vmware and launching through windows? I am planning to use a laptop for a portable 'recording studio'.. using
ProTools v7.4 and a M-Box. I am getting 4gb's of RAM, so I would like to stick w/ x64 pro or Vista64, to launch the vmware. All recording will be done using 'Leopard'.

*Side note.. does a AMD TL-68, support "Virtulization" or the AMD equivalent..or is an Intel cpu required?

I dont believe that will work. Especialy considering you have a AMD.

(Apple + AmD= disaster.)

So, you are saying AMD does not support running multiple OS's from within ea. other?

I just need to know for sure.. its either a 2.0ghz CD w/ 4mb's of cache or a 2.8ghz Turion.. either way I dont care. It will be more than enough 'horsepower' to get the job done.

I do need to run two OS's though. That IS my main concern.

I am not sure. But I have never herd of a succesful OSX install on a AMD comp. I have herd of hack and tweaks to make it work, if you search on google. But thats as far as I know. Sorry.

OSX is designed to be run on only Apple hardware. Since VMs != Apple hardware, and OSX has a hard enough time running on a "regular" PC in the first place, my 100% sure guess is that of "no."

There is the OSx86 project, aimed at helping people run OSX on any PC. But please note that this involves downloading a cracked disk, aka illegal, so I will stop there (not to mention the EULA of OSX says "Apple hardware ONLY.")

Technically its illegal but it can be done. Just gotta look. You don't need a cracked disk, you can buy the OS from microcenter, etc and then use the instructions above.

So a dual boot with linux would be a more feasible option then i take it?
