I have already upgraded my MacBook HDD to a 250gb one, which I must say, was very easy to do.

Now I am finally upgrading my RAM from 1gb (512mb x 2) to 3gb (2gb + 1gb). Reason for not going to 4 is because I have the older generation (mid 2007, so 3rd gen)

So I can only use up to 3.25. I can put 2x2gb in and it will work fine but it has been shown that there is such a small performance gain that its a waste of money.

Anyway, I bought this RAM.

Better than the Mac RAM G.Skill sells. Timings are 4-4-4-12, so it should perform better, and handle my 206BW easier.

You'll have to check CPU-Z in Bootcamp or something to see your RAM timings. idk if the computer is just going to default to 5-5-5-12, and I don't think there are any utilities in OSX that will tell you.

I've never known much about dual channel, but the way I heard it, you have to have 2 sticks of the same speed and timings. Therefore, you are probably running in dual channel. I have a 2GB stick + a 512MB stick, so I guess I'm not running dual channel?

You shoulda just went for the 2x2GB, or just got a 2GB stick imo.

There's not much to say to make a tutorial on replacing the RAM... You take out the batt, unscrew 3 screws, take out the cover, pull the lever, take the old RAM out, snap the new in, cover, screw back in, put the battery back in. Boom, done!

I just ordered 2x2GB Patriot RAM and I am returning the 2+1gb RAM.
