Default Macs are everywhere...

I do tech support for a RAM manufacturer and let me tell you ALOT of large businesses, including the federal government, use Macs. I frequently deal with customers who have thousands of Mac, particularly MacBooks, who have thousands of Macs deployed throughout there workforce.

It all makes sense now...

Well we look at it this way. Pay Dell $1,080 for a computer or pay Apple $4,000 for the same processing power and half the compatibility.

Currently, I work in hospital IT. Myself and the rest of the IT department are responsible for more than 2000 computers...not one is a mac.

I was a private IT consultant for a little more than a year and had over 40 clients....with more than 400 computers among all the clients. Not one was a mac.

My guess, this is a article written by one of those hoity toity "I'm better than you" mac users....

The number of small business > large business.

Large business may use macs, but comparatively the number of mom and pop and smaller business's trump the total of large business's. IMO this article is made up.

I work for an IT company and have never seen 1 mac in any of the companies that we work for. I do know a friend that works for a webdesign/gamedesign company that has a few macbooks, but that's all.

I think that the only way a company has 1000 mac's is when it is such a large company that it also has 10000+ pc's. Or perhaps just OSX on a normal pc

Hey it could be true, do you know how many editorial, marketing, and "hip" business's there are?

No offense to the OS, but it is much trickier to deal with such a different system. It doesn't have a lot of the AD tools to be managed remotely, in addition it would require retraining of individuals and IT staff.

Plus it is much easier to work on a regular tower type Dell, then it is to work with (what 90% of folks would be using) an Apple all-in-one.

The federal government does not use Macs. Since the government purchases from the lowest bidder, Apple does not fit that category.
