I'm in I.T. and TONS of people are using Macs! They use them for doorstops, and they use them for interns that they only get to spice up the office with some eye candy if you know what I mean. They use Macs for testing machines (patience testing) and then use them for flower holders.

It could very well be 80% because they didn't say how many each company has. It could be something like just 1% of each company's computers on average. All I know is that most business computers are still PCs, even if a lot of companies do have a few Macs each.

Maybe, just maybe....

The article meant that 80% of all businesses have at least 1 computer that's a mac. So if a particular business had 1000 windows users and 1 mac, that particular business is part of the 80% of ALL businesses that have mac users.

Ah whatever, I didn't even read the article. Just guessing.

But at my university, nearly 65% of the people all have macs. Most are casual users. I use my macbook pro all the time at school and haven't touched my desktop in 6-7months. I could switch to windows and ubuntu at the click of a button through vmware, which is very convenient for me. Plus I like the feel of the keyboard and the lightweight plastic frame.

Although I agree with all of you hardcore overclockers that love the "bang for the buck" in that Apple is seriously overpriced and not very upgradeable, casual users tend to like the Mac OSX more because the interface is a little bit cleaner (opinion).

NVm I see now. 700 IT professionals. Means that this was conducted on large companies only. Now it makes sense why that number is so high.

I seriously doubt this. I like apple and all...but still...unless I am at school, I haven't seen one buisness with a mac where I live.

I guess it could be true if it means "80% of businesses use at least 1 Mac." Actually, that's still a bit hard to believe...

Last time I checked, the government uses dells. Schools use dells, the police department uses dells, hospitals, fire departments, and court houses. Every government building I've visited uses a dell.

Not true at all...
