Question What's the best codec pack for the Mac?

CCCP is the best codec pack for Windows, what's the best codec pack for the Mac?

Macs don't really need codec support for standard stuff. For DivX, you can just google that. There is a plugin. For WMV, there's Flip4Mac WMV. Then for "everything else," there's Perian. You might just try Perion first to see if it covers the other two.

I use K-Lite Mega Codec Pack, I've been using it for 3 years and NEVER ran into something it couldn't play. This is for windows.

I couldn't play .avis either until I installed Perian. The video would play on a stock system, but I couldn't hear any sound until I installed Perian.

If it's a .avi encoded with fraps, then it will ONLY play on windows. Fraps uses some proprietary codec that isn't read as a regular .avi.

After installing Perian, I can play .avi's, but I'm getting a HUGE delay (freezes) before Quicktime opens up and plays, anyone know what might be causing this
