Default To go OSX or stay with Windows ?

I will maybe be getting some money soon and it will most likley be going on a new computer

I will have in the region of €550 to spend on the the system so I would be getting a Mac mini,or start building my own rig

Now,all of the PC stores here only have the more expensive iMac's hooked up,and leave the mini's all alone,so I was wondering if any OCN users could give me an insight into how quick the mini is ?

I tried OSX on a iMac in store and I really like it

The main thing that is putting me off a Mini is the fact that for €550 I could get a much higher spec computer (in terms of hardware)

I will only be using the computer for Web browsing ,ripping CD's and making DVD's,i wont be gaming on it at all

Thanks in advance

Dean

I had the first generation mini and i loved it. I would say get a mini if that is what you want. If you want the possibility of gaming, in the future, build your own.

Then I would go with the mini.. It's very appealing because of it's size and well.. it's a mac. As much as I love my home grown PC I'd take a mac for simple tasks any day.

I would say just get something that you are going to use. If you don't think you can justify spending the money on a mac mini, then just build a computer to the specs that you need and stick with that for now.
